Graphic novel 'Het land achter de kaart' [2024/25]

In early 2025, I completed the Graphic Novel minor at St. Joost in Breda. The program focused on the full process of making a graphic novel, from concept and storytelling to inking and final layout. My main goal was to strengthen my storytelling skills.
The resulting story follows Oliver, a baker’s son in England who stumbles upon a mysterious treasure map. His journey leads him through dense forests and ancient ruins filled with wonder and danger. Along the way, a new friend joins him, but growing fears and self-doubt begin to take over. Just as things seem lost, an unexpected figure comes to their aid.
The goal of the minor was not to create a complete graphic novel, but to make a polished vertical slice as a final product. Not all pages are fully developed yet, but there are plans to continue the project and finish the full story in the future.
All the linework was created by hand using a fountain pen. Coloring was done digitally with a mix of Procreate and Adobe Photoshop, and the final 32-page book was assembled in Adobe InDesign.
