ATW Holiday animations [2025]

During my internship at Animate the World, an animation studio based in Breda, the Netherlands, I had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects for both external clients and internal use.

During less busy periods, I made four animated social media posts for ATW. Each animation was themed around a specific holiday occasion: Halloween, the Dutch holiday Sinterklaas, Christmas, and a pre-produced animation for Easter.

With each animation, I set myself a new learning objective. This involved exploring animating with pixel-based illustration, while in other instances I experimented with combining both pixel and vector-based illustration. For the Christmas animation, I focused on creating a fake 3D effect, simulating depth and dimensionality within a 2D composition. My final challenge, for the Easter animation, was to produce something visually engaging in the shortest amount of time possible. In the end the entire animation, from start to finish, was completed within just two days.

At the top of this page, you can see the videos without sound in the form of GIFs, but I didn’t just create the visuals. I also mixed the sound effects and the music behind them. You can view the full social media posts below or at the instagram account of ATW.
